the MacBook Pro HDMI connection with a new TCL Roku TV is not working

I have tried to connect my Mavbook Pro to a new TCL Roku Tv to no avail. I have tried all of the HDMI ports on the TV with no success. Is there something that I am missing? I have also tried to mirror my MacBook to this TV, and it seems that this can not be done. Any help would be much appreciated

Hello JimOmaha,

I understand from your post that you purchased a TCL Roku TV and you're trying to connect your Mac to with an HDMI connection but it isn't working.
You've come to the right place for help and I am happy to help.

Mac computers can use an HDMI cable or adapter to connect to an HDTV, display, or other HDMI device.
You can use the article below for help with connecting the HDMI from your Mac to another device.

I also came across this article that can help with external displays. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing: Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
