Scribble Language Default

I am using Apple Watch in German. When I scribble, it used to come up in German as a default.

Since a couple of days, now scribble comes in English. This means, I also have to dictate in English.

I know, that with a force-touch I can change the language, but next time it is defaulted back to English again.

Where can I set the default?

I have already tried to remove all keyboards except German from the iPhone, but still the same.

Reboot does not help either.

Please, how can I set the default language for Scribble?

Are you able to link the change from German with anything else around the same time? Maybe you installed a new app, or updated something, or ..... anything else which might have corrupted the configuration

The only idea in my mind is that it worked in German originally so you could try unpairing the watch then set it up again to reload software and default configuration in German. Unpairing automatically makes a backup to your iPhone, so I would try this and restore the backup in the first attempt. If the backup restores the broken Scribble setting, then repeat the process but load as a new watch without the backup and reload your apps manually.

Did you check (on your iPhone Watch app) ... My Watch / Settings / General / Language & Region ? Your English is good so you should be able to find the equivalent in your German language phone 🙂

I tried both. Unpairing and restoring from backup as well as unpairing and installing again as new watch.

Same Situation. Just that after the new install I can now choose between German, French, Italian :-(

Mabe something to live with :-(

Just a random thought, does the timing of the problem align when you installed WatchOS 4.3.1 which released about 29 May? Could this be a bug?

Yes, I checked this. Region is Germany. (I already tried setting it to English and back - did not help)

Everything else is displayed in German - also the Apps (Aktivität - and not Activity).

The issue appears only when the "Scribble"-Activity is available, so in WhatsApp-Replies, or when I want to add something to my shopping-list, etc.
