cannot import my "*.txt" playlists into itunes

Hello, when i try to import my own .txt playlists back into iTunes following a pc repair and wipe i get the error message "the file xyz.txt cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file. Thanks for any help you can give. much appreciated. Cheers, Enrico

The problem is every time I try to import the xml file iTunes crashes again just before completion. It imports for about 3 hours (278MB file) and playlists start to re-appear but then it crashes and when I go back in all progress is lost. I have read the XML file and everything is there and looks fine, all the music files are in the same places as listed there. Cannot drag & drop music files as I used to be able to do Recently moved everything over to a new laptop ... Windows 10 ... seems like a real fine machine ... itunes is 12.10.6.2. When I open it up, I want to select a few files and compose them into a new playlist. Cannot drag and drop anything to the new playlist as I used to do. Any idea what's up with that?

cannot import music Desktop PCWindows 7 64 bitI have the latest iTunes software 12.7.3.46 installed but I cannot import files or folders. Never had this problem with previous versions.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it has made no difference.Please advise

If those playlists (and/or media files) are on your iPhone see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

So you didn’t backup your entire iTunes folder and simply restore it?
