Can't get to Apple Support on my PC

I can not get to Apple's support site on my Dell notebook computer. I can get to Official Apple Support but once I click on "Contact Apple Support for help" all I get is an error message saying "We'll be right back". Why?

null-OTHER, Windows 7

This is a user to user support forum. It isn't clear where in the process you're being redirected to a "We'll be back" message but given that it's been happening over a period of time, that Apple - Support - System Status says all is good, and the forums aren't full of people with similar complaints, the chances are that something local to you is at the root of it. It could be a combination of factors, router, browser, cache, location, blocking cookies, pop-ups, or javascript, etc. Ring any changes you can and try again.

In lieu of success you could try using Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple to set up a reservation, or contact Apple Support (@AppleSupport) on Twitter.

Who said you were making it up? If I go to the same URL https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=home&PRKEYS= this is what I see in Chrome:

These are dynamic pages that respond differently in different browsers or in different regions. They may also exist on load balancing servers which might not always be up to date. Browser extensions may affect how they are rendered. If there is an error fetching content it may provide useful information that helps you understand what has happened or it might instead be a generic message that is much less helpful, such as a "We'll be back" message when the site isn't down for everyone.

If you care to share the particular version of your browser I can pass a report onto the forum hosts suggesting that there might be a problem with the way that https://getsupport.apple.com works with it, and they in turn could pass that on to those responsible for managing that area who could look into it. In the meantime I've suggested a couple of other avenues you might use to get the help you are seeking.

You want it fixed. I don't have the power to that, but I have let the people who manage Apple Support Communities know about the error and demonstrated how it can be reproduced. They should be able to contact the right people inside Apple to forward the report to. I have no idea how quickly a fix may come. In the meantime, as given, try using Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple to set up a reservation, or contact Apple Support (@AppleSupport) on Twitter.

How does that fix/resolve getting to the support chat though? I am going to have to log-in just to post a question & write responses when I have issues. The only reason I am doing this now is because I can not access the chat room at all & am trying to find out why. Even if I explained my iPad & iPhone issues here that doesn't fix getting (back) to the chat room, does it? Furthermore, if I need to book an Apple store appointment I can't do that here, can I? I would actually need to book that with/through, Apple, correct? Therefore, I kinda need to be able to get to & access what I am not able to. So how does posting my iPad/iPhone issues here really help me?

What do you call that? I am not making it up!

Furthermore, I don’t believe for a second it’s the “router, browser, cache, location, blocking cookies, pop-ups, or javascript, etc.”….(1) there is nothing wrong with my router, (2) I just changes my browser last week….thereby already clearing cache (3) my location has not changed in 5 years & the products are no older than 3 years, (4) cookies have never been blocked before so how would they suddenly be now (5) I have not been getting any pop-ups (6) javascript have never been blocked before so how would they suddenly be now so I just debunked every single thing that you say it “could be”.

I had changes my browser last week from Internet Explorer to Firefox due to a completely different issue (nothing whatsoever to do with Apple) & this is the only problem I have had since doing so! Now, I bet you are going to blame Firefox but how does it make any sense whatsoever that I have a problem with a very specific aspect of a very specific website (the support page of Apple) but no other issues whatsoever? If it was a browser issues why wouldn’t I have a multitude of other problems on every single site I go to?

Hum, that is pretty much what I got before when I was using Internet Explorer (& what I should be getting) so I don’t see how you showing me what I use to & should (still) get helps.

Furthermore, you telling me that they “are dynamic pages that respond differently in different browsers or in different regions”, “may also exist on load balancing servers which might not always be up to date” makes any sense. How do “Browser extensions may affect how they are rendered” when it is the same site? It doesn’t make any sense for what you see to be any different from what I see. You say “If there is an error fetching content it may provide useful information that helps you understand what has happened or it might instead be a generic message that is much less helpful, such as a ‘We'll be back’ message when the site isn't down for everyone.” but I am not getting anything else at all….it goes straight from:

User uploaded fileUser uploaded filescroll down toUser uploaded filethanUser uploaded fileso how is what you are doing any different from what I’m doing? Quite simply, it isn’t! I am getting this the same exact way you are getting yours so why am I not getting the same thing? That in itself is the problem!

For what it is worth I am using Firefox Quantum 60.0.2 but you doing whatever you say you’d do doesn’t give me any answers! Heck, I have already chatted with Apple on my iPad & asked why I can’t get to them on my PC when I can’t very well chat with them on the device that needs support & they can’t tell me anything so how is whatever you are going to be any better/different then what I’ve already done?

You say yourself that “doesn't help you work around it” so why would you even tell me that? That helps me how? You say all this tech stuff that makes no sense whatsoever to me! I don’t care about “a coding error at Apple's end which most browsers are able to ignore but is tripping up current builds of Firefox on Windows”, I want it fixed! It is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE that I can’t get to Apple Support!

Firefox 61 on a Mac opens fine. Firefox 61 on my Windows 7 Dell box gives the same results at you. Enabling the console in the browser with Ctrl+Shift+K and visiting https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=home&PRKEYS= yields the following information:

Still doesn't help you work around it, since this seems to be a coding error at Apple's end which most browsers are able to ignore but is tripping up current builds of Firefox on Windows. I tried various suggestions at Websites don't load - troubleshoot and fix error messages | Firefox Help to see if I could find an option to make Firefox ignore the error and fetch the full page, but without any luck. I will pass this on to the moderators here.
