MacOS HighSierra crash boom bang when opening a ftp site
MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.5)
Yesss. Thanks. That was it. **** thing, the old antivirus from Kaspersky was the issue. I have finally removed the thing and the ftp works fine.
Thanks for help
Have you ever thought about using a ftp client. There are many for ex. Fetch Fetch Softworks
It will make your life easier if you do a lot of work on servers.
latest MacOS HighSierra 10.13.5 (17F77) crashes when trying to open a FTP site. https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/12.0/
Did you try a different browser?
To trouble shoot further you can:
Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen as certain system caches, dynamic loader cache etc get cleared and
rebuilt. This test will tell you if third party inference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443
This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
Yes. Of course I can try to use a different FTP client. But thats not the problem.
Thanks for tip, will try a Safe Boot. But I think I nailed it down to this: com.kaspersky.kext.kimul
sh-3.2# kextstat | grep -v com.apple

I got a kernel stack trace with indications that this was coming from this kernel module. How can I remove the **** Kaspersky from my Mac !? I tried the uninstall software from their site and still I have a kernel module loaded. ****. Not ok.
