Import RAW files are blurry

I have a new iPad Pro and i bought a SD card reader to import RAW files from my Canon DSLR camera. I get the import menu just fine and it imports extremely fast. But all the images are very blurry. If I import them to my desktop, all the images are sharp. Is there a way to fix this?

thanks.

There are some things we can try. I will list them in order of invasiveness. If one does not work move to the next one.

1. Force restart device

2. Delete the photos (make sure the originals are safe).

2b. Try to transfer them again using the SD thingy.

C. Try to transfer them directly from the camera (there should be a dongle that will allow that)

4. Make a full backup using your iTunes computer and restore to factory settings and restore from the backup

D2. restore to factory settings and set up as new.

If I understand this correctly, importing RAW using the sd card reader is useless and i wasted money despite claims by apple that the sd reader imports raw files. Why would anyone import an image you can hardly view because it’s so blurry! If I turn on my camera WiFi and then import the raw by switching the ipad to connect to the camera WiFi, the raw file works. I was hoping for a simpler way to import. what the heck is the sd reader for? I am not happy that apple has false advertising that lead me to wasting money... “The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4. It supports data transfer at up to USB 3 speeds on the 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and up to USB 2 speeds on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and all other iPad and iPhone models.*”

I don't have a fix, but I did notice that the files were clear once imported into Adobe Lightroom. As I look at the photos a day later on the same iPad, they seem clearer. Perhaps there's a big thrash with embedded jpgs until any iCloud sync finishes? Or perhaps Fuji raw files are somehow beyond the Apple's ability to handle smoothly.

It's too bad that iOS and media files are such a bad combination in this scenario. If I could've imported from the SD card directly into Lightroom I would've been really happy. Forced importing into Photos just to have incorrectly blurry photos rendered before you on a magnificent display device is very frustrating. That initial screening of files can't take place because you can't trust what you're seeing.

This isn't a huge fail such that orphans and scared puppies are left behind in the wake, but it really puts a damper on using an iPad in a photography workflow.
