Why is itunes not opening?

Whenever I try to open itunes on my macbook a small textless window pops up. Its completely blank except for an "OK" button. When I click that the app closes again. I've tried restarting the computer as well as opening itunes other ways. The result is always the same. Anyone know what to do?
