Messages Badge app icon not working

My badge app icon is not working again for Messages. Not giving me notification of new messages on the app icon. This has happened before. Usually resolves itself with new ios updates. I have restarted iPad using Apple guidelines, etc...but still not working showing new messages available. It is working ok on my iPhone

iPad Pro Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 11.4

Good afternoon Tanksmom,

I understand the Notifications for Messages aren't appearing on your iPad like they are on your iPhone. It looks like you have updated to the latest iOS. Here are a couple of things you can try:

Check to see if you have Text Message Forwarding enabled on your iPhone. This will help to keep your iPhone and iPad in sync. This can be found by tapping Settings > Messages. While you are in this window, confirm iMessage is enabled on your iPhone.

On your iPad, check Settings > Messages to make sure iMessage is enabled. With iOS 11.4, you also have the option to use Messages in iCloud.
In the Settings > Notifications screen turn off Messages.

Restart your iPhone, and then restart your iPad and enable Messages in the Notification settings again.
