apple music does not download
I struggled with this issue for weeks. Today, I went into the app's info screen and it turned out that the storage permission was not enabled so I enabled it and rebooted the phone (Clearing the app from recents screen did not work). This fixed the problem.
It never occurred to me to check the permissions because the app is supposed to request for the necessary permissions and considering music downloads was working before.
So is Apple Music android app compatible with Android Pie? I am not able to download music on my Pixel 2XL using my Apple Music app whereas it worked fine on my Galaxy S9+
I'm having this issue where I can't download any songs on Apple music when I'm using it on the pixel 3. Can you help me out here??
Steps to resolve in my case (worked for both me and the wife on 9.0 android one devices).
1 - download Apple music 2.7 beta from APK mirror and install
2 - go to settings / apps / Apple music
3 - go to storage and clear cache (only cache)
4 - reboot phone
Worked for both of us and allowed downloading to internal or SD. Worth noting that both our phones already had storage permission enabled, make sure this is on as well!
I have the answer for you. go into your apps in your settings go to permission for the Apple app and you have to add storage to it. For some reason when it update the operating system it turns it off. Then restart your phone and try downloading should work. It work for me.
I have a note 8 but can't download apple music items to my actual phone. Is there a way around it?
Apps & Notifications > Apple Music > Storage > Press "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache".
Sign back into the app and download the songs.
I cleared just the cache and was able to start downloading music again. However, it only downloads some songs and not others??
I honestly don't know then. Once you've Cleared the Cache and Data just try logging in and signing out. I got to download like the 100 odd songs in my library after doing it.

Downloading the 2.7 beta from apk mirror seems to fix the problem, no need to wipe anything just download and install.
Worked for me on Note 9 with Android Pie 9.0
I use Apple Music on the Pixel 3 XL using the newest version of Android Pie and was able to download music (about 5 GB) but now it does not download any more music.
I can confirm this. For me it removed the permission and after enabling it again and restarting the device it now works again.
Were u able to have it in your Samsung music?
It's not letting me play the songs I've "downloaded" on my actual phone just on the apple music app. Even with the permissions added onto it
