Why isn't the Path Bar always available in Find mode?

I have a lot of old files on multiple HDDs in my Mac, so the "Find"feature gets a lot of use. But sometimes the Found files and folders come equipped with a Path Bar, showing me where they are to be found, and sometimes they don't. Considering that it would be good to know where the files are for future reference, how can I make the Path Bar always available-if that is possible-and what am I doing wrong?

Mac Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2), Mac Pro 5,1 mid-2010

You have to actually select an item before the Path will be shown. The other thing you can do is add the Path button to the toolbar. Open a Finder window click on View then select Customise Toolbar. Now click hold and drag the Path icon up into the Toolbar. The only thing is that if you are using the Search field in the Finder window it will display the path of folders but not of files, a bit daft I know.
