It is definitely hardware issue, spots always can be noticed and it is getting worse. Unfortunately my warranty expired. In similar topics people say that it happens if you left your screen with highest brightness and static image for a long period of time. I am sure I have never done that. This blue spots become more and more distinct every day.
How to prevent this from happening?

I have the same issue on my MBP 2016 15 (
I have the exact same issue... even the shape of it is the same. I went to genius bar, they said it is not a problem and they won't change it for me. Have you solved this problem?
