IPhone 6 Plus

Hello, just to verify that I to updated to 11.4.1 and was faced with exactly the same WiFi problem. After trying advisory fixes which didn’t work (e.g. clearing network settings) I tried a re-install of the update via iTunes but to no avail. Finally I have now downgraded back to iOS 11.4. On iTunes Which has now fixed the problem.

Let’s hope bugs will be fixed in the next update.

Same issue here. My iihone 5s is only able to connect to wifi one time. If i leave my home and come back, i can not connect to the wifi again. Restarting the router does not help. Several tries in forgett network, release... sometimes help, but i can‘t figure out which sequenze realy would help.

The bad thing from apple is that i can‘t downgrade to 11.4 anymore. Whats wrong wit you guys at apple ?!? If there are sever issues with wifi - and everYone uses wifi - you should either offer a fix immediately or reopen the possibility to downgrade to a version that works !!!

Ps: all android devices, laptops are working fine and my kids are laughting at me - the only iphone user in our household !!!

My wife's iPhone 6 SE is also having this issue and the phone is now virtually unusable. What a joke.

Can anyone confirm it's not a broadband router problem by listing their provider and router.

Mine is Virgin Media Super Hub 2

I've seen this thread on the Virgin Media forum so just wanted to see if it was just VM SH2 people or not

I have exactly the same problem since updating iPhone 6 to 11.4.1

I only experience the problem at home and not on Wi-Fi anywhere else. I also am on virgin media super hub 2 and am wondering if the problem is a specific issue between 11.4.1 and the Virgin superhub2.

If everyone can flag which Wi-Fi router they are using then maybe there is a pattern or common thread

Mine is superhub 2 but phoned Virgin beginning of week and said it was not working well, told them the wifi was not strong enough. They said no at first but after I asked nicely and said I was a very loyal customer and retentions had said to ask them for exchange they agreed. Superhub 3 arriving Saturday, hoping it will help.

Yesterday my phone was taken back to factory setting but still played up. Today I had another appointment with the Genius team but this time at the Apple Store in Brighton. He did something to phone, something about there being three layers to test, hardwear, softwear and then a third layer which I can't remember what it was. So far it is behaving itself even with the old hub. I really wish I had asked exactly what he had done but it was so busy and it is so hot down here that I just did not take it in. Sorry. Maybe there is an expert here that can understand and explain to you all.

Interestingly when I said shall my husband update his SE he said no, wait for next one !!!!! He did not try and bulls**t me so seemed like I was not the first he had seen. Lovely guy and so helpful.

Wonder if other routers have the same problem surely they do as most use the same internals . This is down to apples update and so Cant blame virgin esp when my iPhone 5s on 10.3.3 is working fine , oh how I wished I kept my iPhone 6s on this ios it was the best and looks like the beta 12 is having problems too , I wonder if this is just a U.K. problem or worldwide

I don't think anyone's disagreeing that the problem is with the 11.4.1 update, but we identified another common factor that might help diagnose the root cause within the update. The issue only appears to affect certain iPhone/iPad models so it isn't without question that it might also be related to certain router characteristics.

I have just had Apple US phone me and ask me loads of questions regarding the problem. They are going to send me an email with a diagnostic program so they can track the problem. Yesterday I visited the Apple Store in Brighton and he again did a full factory reset. This did seem to help for a while, but tonight the wifi has dropped again a couple of times. Not as bad as before. Apple US are going to contact as many as possible to try and get the problem fixed. They are aware of this forum. Tomorrow I am out and about so will test it in Tesco, M&S and McDonalds. Saturday my new Superhub will arrive so that will be interesting.

Glad apple is actually taking this problem serious , I have read on virgin forum the new superb 3 works ok but for me the superb 3 is a no no purely due to latency issue with the puma 6 chip in this router (no good for gaming) so need apple to sort the software out esp when its like this on the ios beta 12 version. Like I said my iPhone 5s on 10.3.3 works great oh why oh why can't you go back to this version is beyond me.

Had a call from Apple Support! They re aware of the problem (reading this forum) and trying to collect more info. They asked me a lot of questions and finally wanted me to install a profile (legit) and monitor the wifi connection. I have a case number so i will check it with apple first but i can confirm its official.. hope this help to solve the issue..if anyone recieve another call comment here please..

Also had the same call in the last hour and can confirm they appear to be collecting everything they can regarding the issue, even from those that have for some reason managed to avoid it. Discussed devices I use and method of updating (iTunes), also what impact an upgrade and downgrade could/does have with regards to what’s left on the device that might make things work again.

Obviously they are collecting certain information from different sources, what they find when it’s all put together who knows, anyhow they do seem to be getting more proactive. The other point is it was the forum that’s prompted this course of acion so for those that consider Apple doesn’t listen sometimes (and I may be one of them), it looks like they do, so it’s important as much as possible is communicated in discussions to give them the best chance possible to resolve.
