IPhone 6 Plus

Hello, just to verify that I to updated to 11.4.1 and was faced with exactly the same WiFi problem. After trying advisory fixes which didn’t work (e.g. clearing network settings) I tried a re-install of the update via iTunes but to no avail. Finally I have now downgraded back to iOS 11.4. On iTunes Which has now fixed the problem.

Let’s hope bugs will be fixed in the next update.

Yes just wanted to add my name to the list, since the update IOS 11.4.1 my iPhone 6s and iPad air 2 loose their WiFi after 3-4 minutes have spent hours talking to Apple support and traveling to an Apple store for my Genius bar appointment followed their advice because I was told they were not aware of any other complaints of this nature (err duh!! and I believed them!!) Tried everything without success so like everyone else just have to hope the next update puts things right, but I think its important that every customer registers their complaint on these pages, its the only way we will get anything done. Good luck to all.

Since the update my WIFi will not stay connected on my IPad Pro or my IPhone 6s Plus. It disconnects every minute and I then have to toggle the WiFi on and off to get on the internet. My old iPads running on 9.3 are fine. My broadband is supplied by Virgin Media Super hub 2. Which seems to be the problem. They will not stay connected to WiFi. I have no problem with 4g.

Please help! Thank you

It Is not the hub's virgin or otherwise in my humble opinion. if you have other devices working fine with your wifi (like computer) then your Wifi is ok. What you can do (what I did!) to be "sure" it is your iPhone or your iPad etc ... is to disable the auto-join feature in your iPhone or iPad devices: Setings>wifi> "your wifi" connection> click on the little i and disable auto-Joint. Go back to your home screen and live the iPhone or ipad for a while (at least 15 minutes). If afterwards you pickup the iPhone or iPad and you are disconnected then you will know that it is your iOS that has dropped the Wifi (check on your computer if the wifi is still working just to be on the safe side). Re enable the auto-joint again.

Apple is aware of this discussion topic and they are investigating it. They called me yesterday (and some other people) to run some analytic while reproducing the issue. so patience. It seems from the postings that old iOS models iPhone 6 iPads 2 are mostly concerned. We have to wait until apple zeroed in on the problem.

There is of course always a chance that our individual wifi setups might be the problem but even in that case we need to be patient for apple to do their work so that we can proceed by elimination what might cause the problems.

In the mean time those reading this post can you provide/post your iOS device model having the problem with 11.4.1 by replying to my post?

Same problem: everything was working fine on my iPhone 6s until I upgraded to iOS 11.4.1

Now I cannot stay connected to my home WiFi network. The WiFi symbol and settings say I am commected - but no web pages or apps will load. If I briefly disconnect then reconnect to WiFi it works - but then 10 mins later I have the same problem. My iPad (which I have not upgraded to 11.4.1) is working absolutely fine, as are all my non-Apple devices.

I tired doing a full backup/restore on my iPhone but it didn’t help. I’ve tried modifying the settings on my router/modem and using Google’s DNS on my iPhone but nothing has helped.

My broadband provider is Virgin Media and I’m using their Superhub 2 modem/router.

I hope that behind the scenes Apple and Virgin Media are working together to come up with either a firmware update for the Superhub 2 or an iOS update that resolves this bug.

I've also been having issues with wifi connection to my VM super hub.
I think mine is the SH2, not the white one everyone complains about but the matt black one before it.
Anyway, since I updated iOS last week some time(11.4.1) I've had constant issues with slow connection on my iPhone 6S over wifi.
My MacBook, which I am currently using to post this, is fine and running on the same hub at the same frequency(5G setting rather than the 2G option), something I've done ever since getting my current hub, and had no issues with until recently.

I've tried getting help via Twitter but had no luck with their suggestions.
I've tried things like resetting my wifi network on my iPhone, which solved the issue for about 10 minutes.

Judging by the above posts, it seems like something that's wide spread and not getting fixed at the moment.

Resetting the network settings does not work.

Apple doesn’t seem to understand that this is not about an inability to connect to WiFi, but is about WiFi stopping working after some minutes. Disconnect/Reconnect restores the connection but it soon fails again. I have a 6s and a 5e and the both exhibit this problem after upgrading to 11.4.1

So far today in the last 5 hours I’ve had to reset my WiFi connection on average after every 5-10 minutes. This is on my iPhone 6 11.4.1

Strangely though, my daughters iPad mini 4 has not had the issue today and YouTube kids app has been fine, but the last week it’s been the same as my phone. I’m unsure what’s changed.

I will post an update - Apple are definitely aware of the issue. I spoke to someone in the Indian call centre at Virginmedia so there was a little language confusion but I got the impression that it is a known issue there too and that their engineers are looking at it. It's a bit of an odd one and I don’t think either party is to blame. Just one of those things. I have a catch up call scheduled with Apple on Thursday afternoon so hopefully there will be more news then. I am sure the software issue can be resolved quite quickly now it is known but I thought I would push for the Hub 3 as a backup plan.
