IPhone 6 Plus

Hello, just to verify that I to updated to 11.4.1 and was faced with exactly the same WiFi problem. After trying advisory fixes which didn’t work (e.g. clearing network settings) I tried a re-install of the update via iTunes but to no avail. Finally I have now downgraded back to iOS 11.4. On iTunes Which has now fixed the problem.

Let’s hope bugs will be fixed in the next update.

Ok for the WiFi dropping had nothing to do with your device, double check your MODEM maybe is getting OLD or to much connection going on in your home maybe 10+ more people is using your WiFi lot of traffics creating a bottle neck that's why your connection keep dropping or loosing I end up buying and Apple Extreme Airport and also have my local phone company to upgrade my MODEM, I have 5 Mac's, 5 iPhones, 2 AppleTV, 5 USB External Hard Drive with Ethernet Cable, 2 WiFi Canon Printer all connect to the same NETWORK with direct cable and WiFi mix and match using a pass through to the Apple Extreme Airport I don't have any issue at all.

I live in Argentina n i have n iPhone X. I have the problem and we dont have virgin hub or wathever .. my problem is with any router of any brand. Apple checked my device n its not hardware related.

Its n iOS problem 100%.. not happened with any other older iOS versions.

Not to be rude but i think that saying that its only a virgin problem or to buy a newer apple device (more newer than iPhone X???) doesnt help at all..

Finally got the chance to speak to VM. Spoke to the support rep and explained him the issue, he said they've heard no such reports about Super Hub 2 to be the issue with iPhone devices and blatantly told me that he can not replace my Super Hub 2 and after insisting that i speak to someone (Manager) who can make that decision he put me on hold and after a min came back saying "We've just received an update 30 min ago and the manager has agreed to replace the Super Hub 2 with Super Hub 3". I then asked if the devs are working on a firmware update he said "I'm not sure at the moment but we've been told to simply replace the SH2 to SH3".

I'll be getting mine in 2-3 days.

My wife’s iPhone 6 has the issue after 11.4.1 update that the device doesn’t allow to activate wifi; it is always deactivated. I had several hours calls with the customer service and finally i went to an Apple store in Munich today; the device has „panic“ logs which should be related to the hardware/board.

I don’t see the need buying another phone because of the software update.

I was told that I could reset the device but if wifi still doesn’t work, I cannot connect to iTunes, so I always see the welcome screen.

It is annoying!!!

Hey All - Apple from Austin TX called me up and we set up diagnostics on my 6SPlus - we captured the issue, the developers apparently fixed it last weekend and we hope to see the fix in the next version of the iOS. For now I got more data for my phone since 4G works fine - I do suspect it was a dual band issue (802.11.G and A band). There is hope on the way on this. Hope that helps.

I have same problem on 6 post upgrade - did Virgin acknowledge Apple problem and issue new rouettt?

I have noticed there is issue even outside WiFi zone where it takes while to connect to Internet.

In this day and age - how can Apple release an update which messes up like this - I’m sure Steve is not happy like his followers.

I have exactly the same problem. I bought one of the very early iPad professional. I tried resetting the network connections and rebooted the modem and Router. this made no difference. So I copied my iPad data on iTunes and reset everything back to factory settings. I still also had the same problem. So I went to an Apple Store and they swapped my original iPad for a new one, but this was one of the early ones that had not been sold. I then went back to iTunes and uploaded all my old data. Again I had exactly the same problem, but this time with a brand-new iPad. I have to say though that this is one of the original early iPads professionals. I am going back to an Apple Store again to see what they can do. At the moment my iPad loses Internet connection about every 5 to 10 minutes. I wonder if people are having this problem with newer versions of the iPad professional. I have never had any problems with my iPad losing Internet connection until I upgraded to 11.4.1.

I could not run my iPad on an earlier version of iOS, like iOS 4.0 because all my backup data was copied to iTunes from my original iPad that had already been upgraded to 11.4.1. The only way I can recover this data is by updating any new iPad to 11.4.1. Does anybody have this dropping of Internet connection with the newer iPad professionals?

It looks as if this issue may be an interaction between the current build of iOS and some routers. If yours has multiple channels you could try turning some of them off so your device is less likely to try to hunt between them. A few Virgin subscribers seem to have managed to persuade Virgin to supply updated routers. Apple will hopefully include a patch for this problem in the next release of iOS.
