IPhone 6 Plus

Hello, just to verify that I to updated to 11.4.1 and was faced with exactly the same WiFi problem. After trying advisory fixes which didn’t work (e.g. clearing network settings) I tried a re-install of the update via iTunes but to no avail. Finally I have now downgraded back to iOS 11.4. On iTunes Which has now fixed the problem.

Let’s hope bugs will be fixed in the next update.

I'm facing the same problems here, as does my wife.

I am using an iPhone 6s, my wife uses an iPhone SE. We both use iOS 11.4.1.

The problem started right after we updated to this version.

I already reset my network settings, but that didn't solve the problem.

The problem appears on my home wifi using an Apple Airport Extreme and at my families wifi using a Fritzbox repeater.

Only switching wifi off/on solves this after returning from standby. It's really annoying.

Hi all,

The problem is a conflict with dual band wifi hubs. I have a simple fix for Virgin Media users. On the bottom of your hub is an IP address, type that into your browser. It'll then ask for the password which is also on the bottom of your hub.

You can then click on WiFi Wireless Settings and simple disable one of the wireless bands. Your hub is now a single band - this fixed the problem for me!!

Apologies to you Brian. I have still experienced problems with a short lease time as I expect you have. Sorry to have wasted your time.

The fix suggested by others in this thread - setting up a guest network and disabling WPA password has worked successfully for me however. This seems to be the best option until Apple finally sort it out.

I have now received, and connected a VM Hub 3, through which I am using two iPads , and an iPhone running IOS11.4.1 , along with a Macbook Pro and two Homepods. Since yesterday all are working when on together, with no problems.

I have stopped using a second wifi network , either using Apple Express or Devolo Powerline.

So , fingers crossed, all will be well -until IOS12 is released.

I am not becoming an Apple beta-tester, on one device , for a few months.

I know it’s only been 3 days but how’s it going for you with your iOS device on 11.4.1? Has it held the wireless connection. I have superhub 2 and have had no end of dropouts since I upgraded 2 weeks ago (why did I believe the reviews that said it was safe!?) and massive battery drain that I think is related to the WiFi issue.

i have held off upgrading to SHub 3 due to unkind reviews on the Virgin forums, but it may be a case of the lesser of two evils. So I’d really appreciate if you could update with how it’s going for you.

In the meantime, creating a dedicated hidden Guest SSID as suggested above seems to be working, but it’s only been half an hour. However it’s the first non-interrupted half hour I’ve been connected in the last two weeks.

Thanks in advance

I replaced Superhub2 with VM Hub3 , four days ago, and have now, my two iPads, iPhone, and two Apple Homepods all connected to the Hub3. Both my iPads and my iPhone are now using 11.4.1 - so far with no problems at all. In addition, I have a MacBook Pro connected wirelessly to the Hub 3.

I think that the range of the Hub3 wifi is marginally ( a few feet ) better than the Superhub 2.

Oh, I also have four Ring wireless doorbell, camera and alert ringers all using the same Hub3 wireless network.

So, maybe , I’m a satisfied customer ( apart from the Virgin notification of a price increase , which Is not owing to my Hub 3 upgrade ).

I hope that helps.

They should send the Hub3 for nothing. Don’t pay.

They did not want the Superhub 2 returned, so I have kept it , just in case.......

Setting up the Hub3 was straight-forward and did require a phone call.

Their system already new that my Hub3 was waiting for some new software upgrades, from my calling number. Ain’t modern technology wonderful.

Good Luck

Thanks. I called yesterday and tried to get them to send me a Superhib 3. They insisted they needed to send me a replacement 2, but swear it will be a brand new upgraded, updated, built in 2018 super hub two which doesn’t have the issues my ancient one does. They are supposedly aware of ongoing apple device issues with dropping out (we have had minor issues with this over the past year or two - bit not to the current extent), but the fix couldn’t be sent through the connection, it had to be hardwired into the newer models.

I’m not really buying it, but if it arrives and works then great. If not then I’ll call and make them send me a 3.

Good to hear from someone else that it’s working ok. I’ll come back and update with my experience of the supposedly new and improved Superhub 2.

Just to update that what turned up today from VM was, in fact, a Superhub 3. So all hooked up and running and touch wood no issues for the last 9 hours. Not a single dropped connection, and in fact my speed is better than it’s ever been. So fingers crossed that the new battery on my iPhone 6s and the new VM router have solved all the problems that appeared to come with the iOS 11.4.1 update.

That’s good news.

My kit has all been running well, for over a week now, so let’s hope that this annoying period is over.

Now we are faced with a price increase. However, when I checked BT, three months ago, they were slightly more expensive, for my minimal package; and there would have been an installation fee - all for a slower bandwidth. No doubt BT will be following VM with a price increase. as usual.
