I am having troubles downloading my pictures from my iPhone X (iOS 11.4.1). I have a MacBook Pro 2017 (iOS 10.13.6) and all software is updated. I can see my iPhone on Image Capture, but none of the photos show up when I select my iPhone. This seems to have just recently happened after I did some upgrading. Any idea how to fix this?

I recommend going to Settings > Photos and be sure “Download and Keep Originals” is checked. Then, test to see if you are able to see the photos in Image Capture.
