Activation lock

iphone 6s ios11.4.0

32GB storage

my sister gave me her iPhone 6s but she had already forgotten the icloud password

upon receiving the phone, i immediately reset it to factory defaults but then i cant go past activation lock even after we renewed the forgotten password from her yahoo email address that she uses as the apple ID.

i have no idea what seems to cause it

i will attempt to use update to ios11.4.1 and restore in the hope that it helps

apparently i use her icloud account for its mine now

please help me, desperation is killing me

What happened when she tried? Have her contact Apple ID Support.

If she is the original owner, have her take the device, the original purchase receipt, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store.
