have hp printer will not scan message says that scanner in unabled

Hp printer all in one will not scan message on printer and computer says scan to computer is enabled. How do I fix?

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), hp envy 4502 printer

Have you checked for a driver update?

Have you tried Image Capture?

Restarted the printer?

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

I have done all this and more. I have pinged the printer and it does not respond. There are no updated drivers form HP. I have restarted, removed and reconnected. Router picks up printer but will not connect. Printer can not connect.

Have you tired restarting/resetting the router?

Is the printer hooked up by WiFi?

Tried everything nothing worked had a warranty on printer returned it for refund and purchased a new model printer installed yesterday no problems everything works.
