iPad connected to wifi in settings but no icon

my iPad just started acting wonky. There is no icon saying the wifi is connected but when you go into settings the network is ticked and looks happy. When I forget the network and sign back in it usually connects (not always) but then drops it. I tried from another discussion to turn on airplane mode and do not disturb - shut down 10 minutes - restart turn off airplane and dnd it connected then lost it again.

Hi!

You can try Resetting Network Settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings on your iPad.

Also, do you have the opportunity to experiment faster or on a different network?

Had similar problem on my new iPad. I had two connections offered by my comcast router: 2.4 and 5.0. On the iPad I connected to the 5.0 and the Problem disappeared. My windows gear could’t see the 5.0 connection so I had to do a router admin function to change the ‘channel’ from ‘auto’ to ‘1’. Other channels are available but only 3 were recommended...I picked ‘1’. If you need help on the router channel change, please let me know. Good luck!
