Safari for iOS - Any way to always request the desktop site

My iPad Pro screen is larger than my laptop, yet I still get the “phone” version of many web sites. It’s a pain to always have to hold down the refresh icon and wait for “Request Desktop Site” to pop up. Why doesn’t Apple provide a setting to “always request desktop site”? ...or at least support a feature to mimic the user agent string of another device like every other browser does.

32 people have indicated that they have this problem, still no answer.

I have just submitted this as a suggestion for iOS 12.

Lets hope that the Apple developers implement this.

iPad Pro Wi-Fi, iOS 11.4.1
