My icloud music library is not syncing properly between devices. When I create playlists and add songs to existing ones from my iPhone, they appear on my mac. However, when I do it the other way around (from my mac) they donot appear on my iPhone. Any idea what might be the problem? Could I be missing some setting or something?

You can’t manually sync when you use Apple Music. Make sure Turn on iCloud Music Library - Apple Support

I am not manually syncing. I already have iCloud music library turned on. As I said in my original post, when I add songs to my library from my iPhone, I can see them on my mac; but when I add songs from my mac, I cannot see them on my phone.
Somehow it just worked on its own. Thanks for your help anyway.
