Login loop bug on Podcast Connect

Every time I log into https://podcastsconnect.apple.com it redirects me to Get Started with iTunes Connect. If I click on the Podcasts icon, it wants me to login again. It's an infinite loop of login and redirect.

I manage a podcast that was moved from iTunes U to Podcasts back when they migrated non-courses out of iTunes U. I'd love to get the detailed analytics.

I have tried:

  • a different browser that has never tried to login to Podcasts Connect -- same login/redirect loop happened
  • authorizing at least one computer for this account through iTunes -- no effect
  • creating a developer account -- no effect
  • contacting Apple for help -- I can't, because when I select Podcasts as the topic, it redirects me to login, and it enters the original login/redirect loop

Any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the same issue:

  1. Podcasts Connect Login (purple)
  2. iTunes Connect Menu (teal)
  3. Click Podcasts Connect
  4. Navigates to blank screen at https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/my-podcasts/new-feed
  5. Redirect to Podcasts Connect Login (purple)

I have tried the following things (from various support discussions):

  1. Multiple browsers
  2. Log in to iTunes with the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  3. Log in to App Store with the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  4. Authorize current computer in iTunes
  5. Add a credit card to the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  6. Add funds to the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect
  7. Make a purchase using the same account that I'm using to log in to Podcasts Connect

At this point, I think I'm out of things to try. I sent an email on the 2nd of August to podcastsupport@apple.com explaining the issue as I've explained above. The automated reply said that I have been assigned case number 100602683760. I haven't received any non-automated replies from Apple yet.

You guys are the best! Thanks for keeping the heat on Apple until they resolved this! I went to https://itunesconnect.apple.com/ to login and was redirected to the purple screen to select Podcasts, which took me to the purple login screen. Once I logged in properly on the purple screen, I accepted the Terms and was sent to my feed page. Hooray!

I haven't tried submitting anything yet. I'll leave this question open for a bit to make sure everyone can get in.

I believe Analytics data is only accumulated since Sept 2017 and only for iOS 11 and newer devices. There are requirements so the old history won't do you any good for analytics.

Podcast Analytics begins gathering data as soon as users play content in the Podcasts app (iOS 11 or later) or iTunes 12.7 or later (macOS and Windows). Apple only displays data from users who agreed to share their diagnostics and usage information with providers. All data is aggregated, and no personally identifiable information for any customer is shown.

Having iTunes or at least signing in to it to enable your Apple ID is a documented requirement if you check the Podcast Help

An iTunes Store account. An iTunes Store account is an

Apple IDthat was previously used to sign in and make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Apple Music. For more information, see Sign in to the iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TVat https://support.apple.com/HT201762.

I do believe there were real issues in the weeks prior that have seemed to be resolved for most people.

It is defined in the Poddcasts Help for account requirements for signing in and using your account / Apple ID at the link below.

There also may be an issue with your Apple ID preventing one from signing in, and not the service itself.

1. Sign in to the iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TVat https://support.apple.com/HT201762

2. Update the information and agree to the Terms of Service as they just updated

3. Authorize your computer in iTunes - Apple Support- https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201251

4. Clear browser data

5. Sign in to Podcasts Connect

6. If it loops again, back to the getting started page, click the Podcasts icon

I set payment information to None and it worked fine, but I got the looping until I Authorized the device.

If you're on Windows, and you don't have iTunes, download iTunes and perform steps 1-3 above first.

I just got this issue again yesterday looping over and over. The way I solved it was to ensure that I was logged into iTunes first, then I ensured that the URL I was using was directly to http://podcastsconnect.apple.com. If you try to go to https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/my-podcasts/new-feed, you might get the looping problem.

Hope this helps.

I was having a similar issue today 12/21/2018 and I found a way around it. If you are hosting from a device or id that is not activated you will find yourself in the loop. These are the steps that worked for me:

  1. download and login to iTunes using your apple id.
  2. input billing address (there is an option to put no card info).
  3. follow it through until your apple id is verified.
  4. After you receive the message that your id is verified, go to podcastconnect and attempt to login again. it should prompt you to agree to the terms and conditions. (you may get an error message and it sends you into the loop one more time, try it again and it should work on the second try.)
  5. login and follow the instructions, by this point you should be on the RSS feed area.

Good luck and may the odds be forever in your favor!

OK, so here's a possible solution that worked for me.

This solution worked for me and I'm a PC user who does not have any apple products and who doesn't use iTunes and has never downloaded it.

SOLUTION:

  1. Download and install iTunes on your PC - You do not have to make it your default music player
  2. Sign in and agree to the Terms and Conditions
  3. You will receive a message that your AppleID has never been used to sign in to iTunes before and to "click here" to learn more.
  4. Click to learn more
  5. You are taken to another few screens where you have to agree to more Terms and Conditions
  6. You will then be taken to a screen that says everything is set up and ready to go
  7. Go back to trying to sign in to Podcasts Connect (purple screen)
  8. After signing in, agree to more Terms and Conditions
    1. At this point, I received another error and had to sign in again
    2. Signed in again and I was taken to the screen with the 5 icons including the Podcasts Connect icon
  9. Click on the Podcasts Connect icon
  10. After some weird redirects, I was taken to the screen where I can add my RSS feed.

So having to have iTunes installed on your computer or on another device somewhere ahead a time seems to be a requirement, and also that you have to sign in and connect your Apple ID to iTunes. I figure this is a legal maneuver to avoid monopoly laws and to keep these all as separate legal entities, which is why you have to agree to 3+ T&C agreements.

It may be possible to now uninstall iTunes now that the Apple ID has been approved by iTunes. Not sure. I'll never use it either way except for testing purposes.

I am in the same boat. I am going to podcastsconnect.apple.com, logging in, going to the "manage content" screen, clicking podcast connect....and then it flips back to the purple login screen.

I have read everything I can find online about this issue for days and tried it. NOTHING is working. Different browsers, accepting terms, adding a credit card, etc...I have done it all. I spent 1.5 hrs on the phone with Apple this morning, went through 4 different people, and no one could help. They told me there is "no known issue" with the page.

When you say you are signed in - do you mind sharing where so I can check? I am on a Mac and have the Apple ID I use to (of course) sign in to my computer. I am also logged in on the iTunes app + I went to the iTunes website and logged in there as well.

When I am trying from in iOS phone I am logged in on the phone (of course) and via the iTunes app. I have also gone to the website on my phone and logged in iTunes there as well.

I can't remember whether I've ever had to sign in to get to Podcasts Connect - if so it was some time back: I'm signed in in the iTunes Store - and the computer is authorised in iTunes. It's difficult to know what to recommend. Normal the usual Apple Support at getsupport.apple.com isn't any use with podcasts - they don't deal with them and Podcasts Support seems to be somewhat separate. You could try ordinary Support and explain that you can't sign into Podcasts Connect. Don't ask them about any specific podcast problem, concentrate on the sign-in.

I'm also unable to either access Podcasts Connect, or log a support request to podcast support, due to the same login bug. I've tried on windows 8 and 10, and I'm logged in to my iTunes account on both devices. Authorizing the devices in the iTunes store also did not help. I have a macbook Air I'm going to try later tonight, I'll let you know if that works.

Have been working through this issue for a few days now, finally called in and spent an hour and a half chatting with the various support departments at apple. Nice folks, unfortunately no resolution.

I started by calling from Getsupport.apple.com, who eventually redirected me to the Apple Developer support. Apple Developer redirected me to iTunes support. iTunes support redirected me to iOS support. iOS support forwarded me to CPU support.

CPU support took pity on me and personally took the issue back to upper-tier iTunes support (rather than redirecting my call and starting from tier 1). iTunes support sent us back to upper-tier CPU support. Upper tier CPU support said to take it back to Developer support and start over.

At this point I said I was done working on this, that my main goal was to let them know that there are serious problems with their product, that its affecting MANY people, and they need to be aware of it.

So, the official response I got from Apple supervisors is they have no idea the cause or solution to this problem, each department is pointing the finger at other departments and back to the user, and they may not work to fix it.
