How to fix 'iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes'
When my iPhone 8 became disabled, I chose "enable" because I was too worried If I chose Restore all my data would be erased. However, the "enabled" choice was wrong. It didn't fix my iPhone. I searched again on the Internet and tried the above steps as I held my breath when I chose recovery mode. Unlike the "enable" "recovery" went right to work. Recovering took about 25 minutes and none of my data was lost.
