The answer has appeared over 250 times in this 2 year old 89 page thread, but, as you didn’t bother to read any of it, here is the answer YET AGAIN.

after spending hours trying to get my phone out of disabled this is what I did.

  1. Kept my finger on the home button until a schematic shows up, a usb connector pointing to ITunes.
  2. Once iTunes recognized my phone I did an update first and then followed by a restore of my - iPhone 6s.
  3. I then used iCloud to restore my backup files.
  4. It took me a long time but basically this is what I did.

😊😊

On your computer running the latest version of iTunes, connect your iPhone using the lightning to USB cable, and follow the specific gestures to have it recognized.

Depending on the iPhone model you're using, those gestures are clearly described at points #1 & #2 of sections:

"Remove the passcode on iPhone X or later, iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus"

or, "Remove the passcode on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus"

or, "Remove the passcode on iPhone SE (1st generation), and iPhone 6s and earlier"

Not forgotten passcode - but iTunes does not recognize device.

Found Apple help guide - try this - restart/turn on phone with it connected to computer and holding the reset button, and hold until you see it show "connect to computer" on phone screen.

this worked for my SE model - and allow iTunes to update software and me to reset phone.

All appears OK again after this.

Note the different models of iPhone require a different button to be held or pressed on the start-up/restart - so need to know how your specific phone model is "reset" at start-up.

If your device has iOS 15.2 or later installed, you can reset it without a computer; check out this link→How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support. Otherwise you will need a computer:

After restoring the phone using one of the methods above you can restore your most recent backup.
