Orange discoloration on corners of screen Macbook Pro "15 2017
I read the previous thread to this that started in 2011, and it is now 2018 and the issue is occurring on my Macbook "15 late 2017. The screen on the Macbook Pro has had orange spots reveal over time when fully in use, and then fades away when not being used at all. I have also observed that when I am charging my computer, or if it is connected for a long time, that is when I see the orange spots appear. Initially one started in the bottom right corner, then it faded eventually. Next, I saw an orange blob in the left corner, then that too disappeared. Now currently, there is a small orange blob in the top left corner.
The other occurrence happening is blocky/pixelated windows (ie. an application window like pages, or slack) showing up on the screen when I swipe between spaces/desktops. When I took it to the Genius bar, they triaged it, then said that the first issue with the screen meant a screen replacement. The second issue with the pixelated screens meant logic board replacement.
I have a retina-LCD display with a 2.8GHz processor, back in 2011 the machines (MB "15 2011) had LED backlit screens with 2.0GHz or higher. Same results with the screen occurring over different specs. So would like to find out from Apple how the two are linked, and if so what are the steps to prevent it from occurring in other machines?
