Email connection to service provider

My wife's email account has stopped connecting to her service provider since 1st August. I use the same provider and my account is OK. I've run Connection Doctor which connects OK. I have not made any changes to the setup. The service provider is Talktalk.

Fixed. Talked to Talktalk tech. No help but sent me instructions on setting up account. No help as that's what was there already. However, my wife's account suddenly started working without any changes being made! My view is it wasn't working at their end and he did something without telling me. I recall the same thing happening a couple of years back when it was on Tesco.net (my wife's account again) and their tech support said they sometimes have probs with multiple e-mail accounts on the same landline. Tesco's e-mail service was subsequently taken over by Talktalk and seems to have brought the old problems with it. Anyway, all fixed. Thanks for yr time.

Talktalk won't support Apple's e-mail app. The messages are there on their webmail site so it's working at their end. I've reset the router but it's still the same. When I enter e-mail it puts up a message prompting me to input the password for my wife. When I do that it says it can't verify the account or the password. Meanwhile, mine's working fine. I sent a test message from my wife's account to mine which was received OK but my reply back was not received. I rerun Connection Doctor which now says it cannot connect on my wife's IMAP account.
