This forum is not fully compatible with iOS Safari

This very Apple’s forum (Apple Support Communities) is not fully compatible with iOS‘s Safari.

It is so hard to use this it, like it was made strictly for desktop using and not for iOS devices as well.

For example:

When you start new discussion and typing text in Comments window, the typing behavior is out of this world!

It so infuriating!

Autocorrection is glitching or not working in a half of the moments. Backspacing is erasing sometimes two spaces instead of one. Backspacing does not erasing words after a few seconds, just continues erasing letter by letter but slowly. New sentence sometimes does not capitalize first letter. Sometimes you can’t place cursor into a wanted place. And so on, and so on.

A bunch of weird behavior of typing!

Or...

Trying to crop profile photo is complete nightmare. It is not cropping, it’s squeezing it!

Why Apple’s own forum is not compatible with Apple‘s own iOS devices? Is this a joke?

Sometimes Apple completely don’t give a heck about things.

Come on, man.

I suggest you to get an actual iPad with an actual Safari, and start here typing a new discussion with long long text with a bunch of corrections during typing.

I mean really try a to type a big text here with a lot of sentences. Because this one-line-text, that yo demonstrated, will not indicate all those issues I described.

This is happening quite long time already, year or two for sure. Maybe even longer. Therefore restarting my iPad will do zero effect to this problem.

And I don’t want to use other browsers, because that’s not the point.

The point is that their own native device working infuriatingly bad in their own forum.

And you’re telling that this is how things should go along.

You could not really posting something here.

Just try to type here in a Comments window a really long text using iPad.

Any text.

Just whenever you will need to type a long long text for any purpose, just grab an iPad get in this forum in a Comments window and use it as Notes app 🙂. And I hope you will use many correction and keyboard predictions.

Peace to you brother 🙂

Sorry, but people were complaining about how the site was working 5 years ago, they were complaining 10 years ago and even 15 years ago. Everyone has a different opinion of how they think the system should work and what is best but that doesn't make it a fact.

I'm not looking for any changes. Not looking for power tools, minimalist, or anything. The front end works fine as it is. I don't like the glitches, like when it kicks me out and then I can't sign in until I clear the history from that day. Don't like the red popups. But they are not show stoppers for me. The front end is not a show stopper for me. I have had no interest in writing anything to change it. Don't get paid enough to put that much work in. It's great that you wrote an article on how to post but I don't see thousands of complaints that it is hard to post. Everyday new people seem to be able to figure it out. The 30 minute logout must be for new people and I'm sure they have a reason for it. I don't think Apple is intentionally making this place not work. I've directed people to come here and post (although often I am loathe to do so) and none of them has complained that it was hard to post.

But unless you are in a position to know the entire picture, i.e. you work for ASC then you are just speculating as to why things are done a certain way. You don't know. You are a critic without knowing the necessary background information. In my viewpoint you are way too invested in this, you have no ownership stake.

I didn't like the additional layer of gaming that Jake added here, I would have much preferred fixing problems than making changes but Apple must have liked them since they carried them over to their new educational effort. Tells me there isn't going to be a lot of change here. I can live with that. If you can't and the way it is run upsets you it is probably time to move on to something else.

But the fact of the matter is none of us has to be here. If you don't like the front end and the way the place works there is a very simple solution that many people have taken advantage of. Stop participating here. No one is forcing anyone to participate here.

That is kind of a strange advice.

Where else to find a help with a Apple devices, if not on Apple’s own forum.

And if we would not complain, things will remain as they are.

There isn’t any Apple Store with Genius Bar, nor Apple Support to make a call to in my region. Not even close.

Apple Support on Twitter is useless in complicated questions, they can only solve minor issues like “how to find this” or “how to enable that”. I had enouth experience with them to say that.

Things like “what/where/how”, that explained in Apple’s articles, I can find out by myself.

So the only place left where I could get help with complicated problems with Apple’s ecosystem is this forum.

Are you trolling? Or you just don't understand what you are saying?

How you suppose to check autocorrection bug, if autocorrection is off?

How you suppose to check capitalization bug, if auto-capitalization is off?

How you suppose to check word prediction bug, if Prediction is off?

How you suppose to check accidental capitalization bug, if auto-capitalization is off?

Test in some other "text editor" APP (not a browser) like Notes, Reminders, Messages, Mail or Pages

ONCE AGAIN...

As I told before, typing with iOS keyboard acts normally EVERYWHERE in iPad (even in those apps you named), except this forum!

Is that clear?

Here are couple more bugs:

Ninth bug - twitching scrolling.

After selecting a sentence or even whole text, it doesn’t let to scroll this page up or down.

This bug persists even after deselecting.

Bug #9 twitching scrolling - YouTube

Bug #9 twitching scrolling (once more) - YouTube

Tenth bug - quoting text.

When press quote button on the toolbar, it throws screen to the bottom of the page.

Bug #10 quoting text - YouTube

I assume there are many little bugs as well, that are not even noticeable, but give you hard time using ASC.
