Messages application on MBP macOS 10.13.5 - phantom notification badge that won't go away.

On my MBP, 10.13.5, when I open the Messages app it shows 2 notifications on the badge, but there are no unread messages. Problem does not occur on my iPhone or iMac.

MacBook, macOS High Sierra (10.13.5)

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and check again.

HI,

Option 2.

Close the app.

Go to System Preferences > Notifications and turn off all Options for Messages

Restart Messages.

Restart the Notifications.
