Apple made me change my apple id to an email account ages ago. But every time I open iTunes have to manually replace the old id and put in the new one plus the password. I've run around the Apple Support but it keeps taking me to the same page which doesn't help.

You logged out of the account in iTunes (is this iTunes on a computer, iTunes Store app on an iOS device) and logged in with the updated version of the account i.e. as per that page ? Does the new email address show as being signed in in Settings if on an iOS device, Account menu if on a computer ?
Yes, I did. And the new account name comes up when I sign onto the Apple website, but I can't figure out how to change the old one to the new one as the default when I open iTunes. Thanks for asking!
