Drag and drop issues

I am having issues with dragging & dropping. It started in Apple Mail, I would be able to drag an e-mail to drop into a folder, but it wouldn't release. I could hit esc and it would release. In the past putting my computer to sleep and waking it back up would work. Now I am experiencing issues in other programs, specifically InDesign cs6 that can't be resolved without manually shutting down my whole computer. I will drag an item to move it around on a page and it gets "stuck" on the mouse. Clicking the esc button will no longer release it. When I turn it back on after a manual shut down, I may be able to drag things for a few minutes, but before long I am unable to "drop" anything again - it basically just gets stuck on the end of the cursor. This happens with both the trackpad and my USB mouse. Any insight would be appreciated as I have gone through multiple troubleshooting tips already with trackpad settings, resetting computer, clearing InDesign preferences, and the problem persists.

Remove the adware by clicking on the Remove link from within your Etrecheck report. (You may have to run the report again to do it).

Uninstall CleanMyMac as per the developers instructions, it's practically malware. No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system.

After that run Malwarebytes to be sure there is no malware left on your Mac. Malwarebytes

was developed by one of our own colleagues here in ASC and is about the most proven anti-malware software for Mac.

Then test drag & drop and run another Etrecheck report and post the results.

Drag & drop is also a function of LaunchServices, so try rebuilding your LaunchServices database:

Launch Terminal. Triple click anywhere on the following line to copy entire line then at the prompt copy & paste this command: Then press return. Wait for the cursor to return to the command line.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain u -domain s -domain l -v

Thanks guys, I removed CleanMyMac and the adware, as well as used Malwarebytes and cleared what it suggested to clear. Adding the screen shot here as well as the new Etrecheck report. So far, same thing, it works when I restart my computer for a bit, and then back to where we started with things getting stuck...

Same thing, this worked, and then back to the same issue of items not "dropping" after I drag them after about 30 minutes of use. So irritating!

FYI - hitting esc while just moving documents and files around within finder releases them, however in programs like InDesign, hitting esc does nothing to release the file, and I have to do a hard restart of the computer.
