macbook pro 13" 2018 random freeze

I got my 2018 macbook pro 13" three weeks ago. The computer freeze at least twice. It requires hard reboot. Where should I start to look for fault? The system isn't under heavy load nor was it hot.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, 4 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

I'm having the exact same problem on my 2018 13" Macbook Pro. I've had it just three weeks and it's frozen four times. I restarted the device in Safe Mode two days ago and back in normal mode today and it froze again.

Apps running at the time: Mail, Safari, Chrome, Grammarly, Calendar, Messages, Slack, and Amazon Music.

Hi there!

I personally think battery draining issue has to have something to do with the new OS, possibly some sort of bugs which in my personal experience normally Apple fixes then by providing patches and update in future. I have the same issue on two Macbook Pro with Retina display Mid 2014 and started encountering the issue as soon as I upgraded to macOS Mojave...

Thanks for letting the group know! I also installed Mojave about 2 days ago. No more freezing and no more ramping of the fan..... but yesterday I ran into another glitch that I am sure is due to Mojave. All of a sudden my internet, which showed it was on, could not connect. I spent two hours with Tech and they could not get it working either. We ran diagnostics and tried EVERYTHING! Then I walked away for an appointment and when I came back, everything was working again....mail and Safari. I took the MacBook to another wi-if site and it worked fine there too and then worked again when I brought it home. And it is working this morning.

This glitch had nothing to do with the internet connection... iPads, phones and desktop, located next to the MacBook all had workable internet and the internet speed was quite strong.... so it was only this computer glitch.

Really, really, strange!

Best,

Helen

Hi guys.

I'll be going to the Genius Bar in Amsterdam this Saturday to have them look at my laptop. Even after updating to Mojave I'm still experiencing said freezes.

Moreover, I have the double key problem (when I want to type "t", "tt" appears). Apple has a repair program for this problem with the butterfly keyboards, but it is up until the 2017 MBP. It should've been fixed in the 2018 MBP but I still have the same issue. Gonna be a fun day.

Keep y'all posted!

Following my other post...4 days later after a clean install of Mojave I have experienced my first reboot. It occurred just after the lid was opened after a night of sleep. Interestingly enough, there was no crash report message. However, looking into the logs, I see this

com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.sandboxd[9133]): Service exited due to SIGALRM | sent by kernel_task[0]

Also, looking at the timestamps of these messages, there is a lot of activity when the laptop is supposedly sleeping

Now I don't think this has anything to do with it but its interesting.

So, unfortunately, this is STILL happening on my 2018 MBP (I posted my initial problem many weeks ago). I talked extensively with Apple's team about the issue several weeks ago and sent them system diagnoses files on several occasions. I thought that after the latest software update the problem would be fixed, but after working fine for about two weeks my computer froze again this morning while doing simple web browsing. Very disappointing in in Apple's clear lack of quality for this product.

Yeah, thanks for the update! When I went to the store, they kept my

computer for 5 days just to factory reset it without even knowing what

caused the issue... And I used to think that Apple was different from the

others. (This is my first Mac ever, which I bought precisely because got

tired of such issues with Windows-powered laptops)

so why do these genii not announce it officially than? also: I had this issue several weeks ago and until today I did not have this issue anymore. I changed nothing. It just did not happen again, not matter if I do Netflix, youtube, safari, chrome etc. I am still running high Sierra (as I'm too afraid that some of my software just won't work in the new OS, any problems there maybe, anyone?)

Replying to my last response...

Another day, another crash. This time using Skype for business with a headset which the microphone would not connect. After going into both system preferences and skype preferences to check setting the system froze followed by a reboot.

I see this in the log almost every 5 seconds prior to reboot.

kcm[14776]: DEPRECATED USE in libdispatch client: Setting timer interval to 0 requests a 1ns timer, did you mean FOREVER (a one-shot timer)?; set a breakpoint on _dispatch_bug_deprecated to debug

argh!!! I really hope there is a fix because this is not reliable!
