macbook pro 13" 2018 random freeze

yes, I really think we all should, I mean, there's no actuall announcement by the apple-guys... this is not okay. Every single day since I posted into this dicussion someone new is reporting the same problem. that's crazy!

I read your original post in the email, it was deleted immediately.. I feel like apple is trying to cover this whole thing up. Maybe until they know what’s actually going on?! Or maybe just in general so they won’t have to pay for the damage ..

I had hope for a week after upgrading to Mojave, but I'm back here to report that I've just had my first freeze after the upgrade. Luckily I didn't loose anything important,but really hope there's a fix soon.

Update on this... It just froze again, 13 mins after last time, under the same conditions (streaming video on Firefox). Sometimes it takes a week, sometimes a few mins. This is simply not sustainable, without a strong reaction from Apple soon, they will start loosing costumers permanently.

Running Mojave, less than 7 days old mac, crashed two times already two days in a row. Symptoms:

- system is totally unresponsive, touchpad is being blocked (?! no idea - cannot click it)

- have to hard-restart it by holding power button down for few seconds

Once it happened while watching movie (VLC), second time while just entering form fields in Firefox. Did not tried to reinstall the system just yet as I use my machine for work.

To be honest this is ridiculous given how much the new MBP cost, if I have known that this is a common problem before I would have never decided to upgrade my MBA with another Apple product.

Did anyone actually managed to solve this issue? I assume at this point - because there is no official information from Apple it's a guessing game and it might be a hardware problem? 😐

I'd like to know what is in the beta that addresses this issue before upgrading. Using a Beta is likely to introduce a whole new set up bugs and potential software issues.

For the record, I fully wiped by laptop and reinstalled Mojave fresh using the internet recovery method. No lockups as yet, but I haven't used it enough yet. The issue for me manifested randomly but about 4-5 days between each. So time will tell... If can go 14 days without lockup I will declare victory. But I'd still like to know why.

I've already returned the very 2018 13" macbook pro because it was freezing after only having it for 6 days and I was only using things like Chrome and Keynote. The brand new i got in exchange is already having the same issues after 2 weeks. I can't believe I spent $2k on this and have had this many problems. Going to return this second one and not get another one.

My MacBook Pro 13” 2018 with touch bar freezes about 7 to 8 times since I bought it in August. I tried upgrading to Mojave after that and it seems fine for two weeks now but today my MacBook just had its first freeze after upgrading to Mojave. Not sure what’s the issue but I really hope Apple will solve this issue as soon as possible.

Has anyone had the problem after upgrading to Mojave Beta? I've been following this thread for a while, and don't recall anyone reporting the issue after upgrading to the beta version. I just wanted to check it out if that's accurate or not.

my story is I brought MB pro TB 2018 256 gb on august 29 2018. it was. fine till October.7 meanwhile I update to Mac Mojave too then suddenly on October 8 it got dead not powering up fan making noise super scary well so finally landed up in Apple service centre. I demanded replacement but they dint provide instead asked me to drop it for service as my logic board is damaged according to the service man so I have to deposit it, i did after almost 22 days after having lot of followups I got my MacBook Pro 2018 tb back with all data washed 😟 then I updated to Mac Mojave yesterday today while working it got freeze and automatically restart it I wanna know what's wrong with APPLE ??? please someone suggest what has to be done ?? I'm using Mac since 2012. I had no issued with my old Mac book pro 2012 but after buying MACBOOK 2018 TB paying such a amount why I'm suffering so much APPLE

My story is MacBook Pros 2018 have freeze random and sometimes can recognize audio connection, lost connection Bluetooth with magic mouse 2.

I pickup Aasp, get it and wait to change a part for mymacbook.

So i wonder if it had change a part can be happens the same issues?

Add me to this one. Same here, I got the MacBook Pro 13" since September, and I experienced the same issue as well. Random freeze, no specific logic to this just happen at anytime, no specific software being used, no heavy load. Any update on this?

This is happening to me too! My 2018 macbook pro 13-inch is only a few weeks only and has frozen twice. I was only using Firefox and it completely froze, the trackpad became unresponsive (wouldn't even click down), and the only that would fix it is a hard reboot. It was not hot or even running multiple programs.

My MBP has a task bar and is 16/1T. I do run Paralkels but it crashed right out of the box The freezes occur on no set pattern. Today it happened using DropBox, Messages, Mail, Settings and Parallels.

I am experiencing the same problem. Brand new 15" Mac Book Pro 2018 (32G, 2.2, 512G), purchased 4 weeks ago, as of the past week, it has frozen twice. The mouse freezes and after 60seconds, it restarts.

No major load, temp is ~144, I clicked on refresh in chrome for a shopify website we work on daily.

I generally do not restart my computer and just close the lid. Uptime is a 7-10 days on average between reboots.
