Macbook Pro Late 2013 SSD upgrade

Hi there,

I have a base model MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 that came with a 128GB ssd. Due to the limited storage, i bought a used 256GB ssd from a 2015 Macbook pro. I have been able to install the ssd and install High Sierra on it and everything seems to work fine except sleep.

When the MacBook lid is opened after the machine has gone into deep sleep, its just freezes with a blank screen. The backlight comes on the screen and the keyboard.

The only difference between the two SSD's are that the my original seemed to be a Sata unit and the new one that i bought is NVME.

Is there a fix for this.

thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

No fix. Different SSDs. The SATA version uses a 2.5-inch form factor. The NVMe uses an edge card connector and plugs into a connector on the motherboard. If it is working for you as it should except for sleep then erase it and reinstall macOS from scratch. Do not yet reinstall the third-party software. Check if it now works with sleep. If it does then the problem is related to a third-party software you installed.

Well, that's helpful. They are compatible, then.
