I suddenly cannot add a new bookmark.

This is the error I receive when I try to save a new bookmark.

You can't change bookmarks now.

You can't change your bookmarks right now because they are being synchronized. Wait a few minutes, and the then try again.

This error continued to exist all day. I see that someone else had this problem back in February but nothing was posted about a solution.

I have hundreds of bookmarks. Is there a possibility that there is a limit? I have shut down both my computer and Safari and the problem persists. Thanks for your help!

I too have the same problem not being able to 'Add Bookmark'. I tried removing and deleting old bookmarks (a few hundred) but the same error message persists. The bookmark limits are

  • Total number of bookmarks: 25,000
  • Maximum size of a bookmark: 4 KB
  • Maximum size of all bookmarks: 24 MB

I'm no where near this threshold and my network speed is 45MB/s yet the problem has persisted for over a week now. Not sure how to solve this. Any ideas?

cheers

Let the bookmarks get synced , it depends upon the network speed to completely sync all of them , then you can select some bookmarks in bookmark side bar > file > export As pdf in case if the quantity is massive .
