Proxy Media not visible in FCPX browser or timeline

And, when I've gone back to a timeline just now that was ok this morning I have now lost links so have red warning clips rather than the proxy clips.

So Im in an a situation where everything I do is being undone again

Media is stored on a 6Tb G Drive that has 4Tb free. All the media is playable by directly playing it from the drive with QT player. All the media is visible and plays when original media view is selected in FCPX, but of course being 4k footage it stutters and drops frames.

It would seem so but I have not modified them in any way. The only process they have had is import from SD card to the location on the external HD, and then transcoding to Proxy so I can edit smoothly (or hoped to).

The definitely seems to be a problem with FCPX seeing the proxy files. Do I need to relink the proxy files (no - I shouldn't have to, that's what the app should do!) That though would be a mammoth task with 2,460 clips to relink.

Is there a bug with Sony 4K MXF files working in FCPX? Has anyone else had this problem?

OK, worth a try. Just to confirm Tom, do you mean Delete Generated Project Files as I have done this previously?

Cache is 'In Library' but I can't find it when I open the library bundle.

Yep, as you said in the event folder I've got HQ Media, Peaks Data and Thumbnail Media. Should I delete all their contents or just the Thumbnails?

I would concur with you except that Apple support suggested that I tried placing the Library on the main HD. But yes, normally everything on the external drive for the job. I'm 2Tb's into a 6Tb G-Drive and there is more than a Tb on my iMac HD.

So am I right in thinking you're suggesting I delete the FCPX generated files and re-transcode the media? Have you encountered this same problem and did this work around solve it?

Here are screen shots of my folder structure showing the proxy files in the Final Cut Pro Proxy Media Folder for the 28th January 2018, The browser of that same date when Proxy view is selected and the same date on the browser when original media is selected.

OK, will let you know how I manage (will be tomorrow now).
