LG Ultrafine 5k switching color profiles upon waking of MacBook pro

So I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that is calibrated with a Spyder 5 Pro. When I close my MacBook I have to manually switch the LG Ultrafines color profile to the Spyder 5 every time. Shouldn't it be displaying the same color profile as the MacBook Pro if that's what is selected on the MacBook Pro? I am a photographer so color accuracy is huge for me and I just have to remember every time to switch the monitor to the calibrated profile but I was thinking it would be automatic. Anything I'm doing wrong?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
