Thunderbolt Display USB ports have stopped working

I've just returned from 3 months travel overseas with my MBP. When I reconnected to my Thunderbolt Display none of the display's USB ports work. Any ideas why and how to fix this?

Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) adapter not working properly Hello, I have an Apple Thunderbolt Display and a MacBook Air (2019). I used to connect these two with the original Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter which worked fine. However, I haven't used the external Display since March and now when I try to connect them, it's not working. I know the display itself is working because I have a keyboard and my headphone charger attached to it and they light up when my MacBook isn't connected. As soon as I plug in the adapter into my MacBook, the 'communication' seems to stop though. Does anyone know if this is caused by the MacOS Big Sur or have a suggestion for how to fix this? Thank you!

Thunderbolt 2 ports not working simultaneously on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) Both of my Thunderbolt 2 ports work, but not at the same time. Main points of interest: They have worked simultaneously in the past (I've had my HDMI and both Thunderbolt ports connected to external monitors all at once -- worked perfectly) Each one works without the other (Thunderbolt port A works without Thunderbolt port B, vice versa; both work with and without the HDMI being used) I am using Mini-Display Port cables to connect the Thunderbolt ports to my external monitors. Things I have tried: Updating the OS (I am currently on macOS Catalina v10.15.4) Restarting the system Testing each cable individually to make sure it works Testing each port individually to make sure it works Has anyone else encountered this before? I would rather not have to get charged by Apple to solve this considering the fact that both ports do in fact work separately. Would be very appreciated to have any help.

Turns out a cold reboot solved the problem. I didn't even have to zap the PRAM. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Try resetting the TBD by unplugging from the wall, wait 5 minutes and plug back in and retest. Also go to "about this Mac" and see if the ports are recognized. Also do a SMC and PRAM reset of your Mac and retest.
