macbook pro virbrating (no earth ground)

The 1.8 meter cord, fully earth grounded, is available as an accessory for under UK£20.

They used to include it in the box with a new computer. It appears they removed it to reduce costs, and perhaps did not think the implications all the way through.

Reading around, the supplied UK 3 pin plug adapter does not have a ground/earth connection to the charger and the Macbook is giving 'small electric shocks' leaked from the charger.

I plugged in a corded plug adapter and the shocks stopped straight away, sure enough the corded plug adapter has a earth ground connection to the charger.

Why does Apple supply the duck-head adapter without a ground connection?

Is it possible to get a UK 3-pin duck-head adapter that has the ground connection in place?

We can't answer for Apple since we are just users like you. But maybe they assume your building wiring is correctly grounded.
