How to reduce picture file size to less than 5MB to export?

I am trying to add iphoto pictures to ebay messages and other places and am told that the file size is too large. Never had this problem until now. Don't know what has changed. Have gone under file/export and made everything as small as I could and does not work.

exporting JPEG file size become smaller Good day, I exported my edited JPEG file, and realised that teh file size became smaller as compare to my original, for e.g. the files size in Photos show me 7MB, the output in finder shows me only 4MB. I have chosen the export format version as original file size and maximum, may I know anything that I did it wrong?cheers!

Exported picture from Photo became smaller size Greetings, When I check on file information on the image, is was 5.7MB, however, when I exported with maximum quality, it became 653KB. My other exported images have no issue, the size is similar, except for those picture 'white background' layer. Attached please do find some of the screen shots. May I know how can I maintain the file size? Cheers!

iphoto on airbook If I move an image JPEG from downloads to import on iphoto the file will be missing if I clear out my downloads. I opened the image in preview and exported to iphoto same result. I imported from iphoto and once the file was cleared from download the file is missing. This all started when I bought extra space in icloud. I turned off maximize storage on mac and icloud. I download lots of other material and cannot have my download folder becoming enormous. Thanks

The key setting is Jpeg Quality. Lower quality means lowest file size.

If that doesn't help then give us a fuller description than 'made everything as small as I could'

What version of iPhoto? and the OS?

What size is the original and what size is the resulting jpeg?

OSX 10.10.5 and iPhoto 9.6.1 I had JPEG quality a at low and size small.
