MBP 2015 USB ports not working

I have had this MBP 2015 since Nov 2015 and it has always had a problem with right sided USB not able to charge my phone or transfer information. This is not consistent but happens enough that I never plug into right USB, and mostly use the Lightening ports. I have tried NVRAM reset, and others but never saw a benefit. Has there been a fix for this?

Hmmm. Resetting NVRAM is the go to way to reset serial port definition.

It is possible to try a different cable—but don't hold your breath.

You can try running the Diagnostic/AHT http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509

However, not definitive by any means, but may kick out an error code.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test and ask specifically for the VST (Video Systems Test)
