Connecting my Mac to guitar amp

can I use the headphone output on my amp to connect to my mac to record from the amp into garage band?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you want to record audio from your amp into your Mac using GarageBand. The best way to do this is using a USB audio interface. Here are some examples:

Thank you..... I already record from my guitar to garage band by USB....no problem.....what I am asking is...if I plug my guitar into the guitar amp, can I use the headphone output on the amp to connect to the Mac and record on garage band. The amp only has one output, which is marked headphone?
