Profile manager hangs again on "pending"

Hello there,

I am using Mac Server 5.4 on MacOS 10.13 and I am having the problem, that profilemanager is hanging on "pending". This really annoys me, as this problem comes up every time I am using profilemanager. I have to admin that I am using the profile manager once, twice a year because the settings do not change more often than that.

I would really like to know the cause of the problem and I found several articles about it. I guess it would be helpful to know what I did so far and what are the clients I want to use here.

1. Clients:

1 x Mac with MacOS 10.12.6

1 x iPhone with iOS 11.4.1

2. What I did:

a. I deleted all profile settings on the 2 machines above.

b. I got a mail that my push certificates will be outdated, so I renewed them: server app -> warnings -> double click on the cert -> renew

c. I deleted the 2 devices in the profilemanager

So I guess I should have a quite good start for the following

d. registered the 2 devices again with my.server/mydevices ; this succeeded, as the 2 devices are then correctly shown in the "devices" section of the profilemanager. As far as I can tell, the drives are correctly recognized.

e. but somehow, the registration fails: in the active tasks, I see the 2 devices with status "pending". The task is the registration of the devices (sorry, I do not know the exact term as I am not using an english interface).

Okay, I thought, let´s search for more details. What I found: I server app, I also did

f. server name (top left) -> Settings -> Apple Push Notifications -> edit apple id. I then saw that this was oudated too, but I could click on "renew" here and now, it shows that it is valid.

But the devices are still hanging on the registration task.

Can somebody please help me on finding the cause? I would really appreciate this 🙂
