Blocked Emails still showing in "All Mail"?

macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6

I am using my Gmail address with the generic Apple Email app on my MacBook Pro.

In Mail preferences, I've created rules to block/delete mail from specific spam senders.

Mail from these specific blocked senders still show up in "All Mail", yet I assumed they'd be blocked and deleted just as has happened in all of my other folders/inbox.

Why don't my "rules" apply to my "all mail" folder, and/or how do I force this folder to comply with my rules as the other folders/inboxes have?

Is this simply an existing flaw of the rules option, and is there a work around?

Apple chat couldn't tell me what to do.

Thank you for your input!

There isn't a way to do it with a rule.

You can move a message to the Trash using a Rule. However, since Goolag is insistent upon keeping all of your email, it makes a copy in All Mail before it is ever sent to your Inbox. Since Rules act on messages that are going to your Inbox, it cannot override Gmail's server side functions.

There are ways to set up Gmail to delete messages completely (i.e. not store a copy in All Mail) when you move the message to the Trash, but I don't know if it will work with a Rule.
