Epson Stylus Photo R300

I have recently upgraded to a MacPro 2012 running High Sierra and have tried to connect my Epson Stylus Photo R300 to it.

Whilst the computer appears to see the printer I can't access the print queue or the supply levels and documents don't seem to reach the printer. I have deleted the printer and added it again.

There is no driver listed for this printer on the App Store or listed on my computer and I can't see anything relevant on the Epson web site.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Did you check with Epson that it was compatible with High Sierra before you upgraded.

Anyway I got this from the Epson website, Epson Stylus Photo R300 - Epson make sure the Operating System Selector is set for MacOS High Sierra.

You could also download and install this, Epson Printer Drivers v3.3 for OS X this is the latest Epson Driver update available from the Apple Support Downloads site, it was released on the 6th July 2017 before High Sierra came out and only mentions OS's up to Yosemite, although if you click on System Requirements it does mention OS X Yosemite and later, it will do no harm in installing it.

"I have deleted the printer and added it again." You may think you have deleted the printer before reinstalling, but there may be one part of the procedure you missed. Even though you can seem to delete it in Sys Prefs under "Printers & Scanners" that does not complete the process. You also have to go to Library > Printers and trash the Epson Folder and then empty the trash. Until you complete that procedure you haven't deleted all of the parts of the driver.

This is the Epson link to that driver, along with instructions on how to download it from the AppStore: https://epson.com/Support/Printers/Single-Function-Inkjet-Printers/Epson-Stylus- Series/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R300/s/SPT_C11…

Hope this helps 🙂
