How do I change imap to pop3 in Mail on iMac & iPhone

How do I switch from IMAP to POP3 on my iMac and iPhone?
I don't want any interconnection between the devices. Duplication is fine with me.

Keeping email on desktop computer (IMAP vs. POP) Hello, I've recently upgraded to Big Sur, and IMAP is the default server protocol for Mail. I check email on both an iPhone and an iPad, but I like to save important emails on my desktop for extended periods of time. With IMAP, it seems as if the only way to do this is to allow emails to pile up on my other devices, because if I delete them on the iPhone or iPad, it deletes them everywhere. With IMAP, is there any way to prevent emails from being deleted from my desktop when I delete them on the other devices? Or is switching back to a POP protocol the only way to do that?

How do I change my POP setting to IMAP without clearing my already downloaded email ? I want to sync my mail in my MacBook Pro to my Imac and My ipad.. I read somewhere that I need to change my email setting from POP to IMAP .. but if I Can not change this without creating new account is that mean I have to delete my POP account ? if I delete the account then I lose all my already downloaded email.. How I do this without losing my emails.. Appreciate your help..

How do I change my Mail program to IMAP so it deletes mail on all devices? I am on iOS 15.4.1. I don't see any information on how to do this, anywhere! Can someone help me?
