iPhone setting to remove notch

I'm thinking of getting an iPhone Xs but I can't get over those "eyebrows" on either side of the "notch" on the screen.

Does Apple have a setting for iPhone X where the eyebrows region is simply not used? I know it reduces my screen size and changes the aspect ratio of the display, but I really can't get over those ugly eyebrows.

For me, it simply is a deal breaker. If I can't turn off the eyebrows then I don't want the iPhone Xs.

Nope.

I believe some apps can do this for aesthetics, but not iOS itself.

Of course I’m not going to buy it as-is. But one would think it rather simple to provide an eyebrows-less mode in Settings. Honestly I’m still very pleased with my 4-year-old iPhone 6 and Apple isn’t doing themselves any favors by ignoring user preferences.
