iTunes cannot connect to iPhone5

Trying to synch iPhone 5 with iTunes on iMac. Message: cannot connect with iPhone because error occurred when reading from the device. Have checked iTunes is up to date. Any ideas where to start? My thoughts try another usb port, try another cable. This is not my iMac or iPhone but husband's. Bringing both home for me to troubleshoot.

Issue connecting device to iTunes Hello, I have a currently ongoing issue with connecting my iPhone 5 to iTunes. I have tried to update ios drivers on a windows machine, hard reset device, reinstall iTunes. Always getting errors starting with 0xE..... etc. I tried to contact apple support via browser but no luck what so ever. Need help A.S.A.P. Hope to get an answer soon. Regards

iTunes does not recognize iPhone I am using the latest version of iTunes, 12.10.0.7 and my phone has the latest update, 12.4.1. Everytime I connect my phone to my computer, Windows, "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred." I was having similar issues but with storage so I removed a lot of files, and had my computer re-imaged and cleaned. I even reinstalled iTunes and now I am getting this message. I also get the same message when trying to connect my old iPhone 6. I have tried restarting both my computer and the phone several times, as suggested, but no luck. HELP!!!!

It can depend on which macOS is installed.

iTunes for Mac requirements > iTunes - Download iTunes Now - Apple

Mac OS X version 10.10.5 or later

If you aren’t sure which macOS is currently installed, click the Apple menu  top left in the screen.

From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
