Measure App not working in iPhone 6

Today I have updated my iPhone to iOS 12. One of the new of app Measure is not available in my device.

When I searched on app store, it says, 'This app requires specific features not available on this device'.

As communicated iOS 12 features will work from iPhone 5. Please let me know the problem and solution.

There's no confusion. Your iPhone must have Apple A9 processor (iPhone 6S & iPhone SE) or later chip to use AR.

The Measure app uses augmented reality (AR) technology to turn your iOS device into a tape measure. You can quickly gauge the size of objects, automatically detect the dimensions of rectangular objects, and save a photo of the measurement for later.

Before you start

First, make sure that you're using iOS 12 on iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later, iPad (5th Generation), or iPad Pro. Also make sure that you're in a place with good lighting.

Removing the Level function from the Compass and then not being able to offer it on iphone 6 and lower via the Measure app, was probably the lamest thing that Apple could do. However, the Compass app provides some level (pun intended) of Level functionality.

There are plenty of other 3rd party apps which measure level, many of them better than what Apple offers. I always thought it was odd to put a "level" in with the Compass app anyway since they're completely unrelated metrics.

You might try reading this thread that you're replying to, you cannot use the Measure app with your 6s as it does not have the required AR hardware ... you need X or later.

As for compass problems, if you have tried to restart the iPhone and still have the problem, you may need to restore it in case the iOS update did not install correctly.

Do you have any other issues elsewhere with regards to the iOS12 update, if so you could try reinstalling the iOS part again by putting the device into recovery mode and using iTunes (select “Update” and not Restore by the way).

This method shouldn’t remove any data or settings so it could be a quick and easy way to try and resolve, of course if others with similar devices are experiencing same then it could be a bug and will therefore require Apple to resolve.

Not sure what else you could try if it’s not a bug other than a full Restore and setup as New.
