How to turn off two factor authentication?
unbelievable that we don't have the option to turn off two factor. I had no idea all the places (such as simply ordering a movie) this would interrupt work and play. Let us decide how to best use our system. This is NOT customer friendly in any way. Big brother does not know best.
We're here, but just other users like you & cannot force Apple to change their ways. :(
To expand on IdrisSeabright’s response. Just add your phone number as a secondary Trusted Number like Apple suggests.
This nonsense has to stop. I was using my wife iPad Mini, while she's was in CA and I'm in Oregon. My divides are Note10 Plus and Tab S3. I'm very sorry I accidentally used this iPad cr*p
Sorry. I did not realize that i can request to have the 6 digit Code sent to my phone number, which is NOT an Apple device. Still the whole process is a pain in the ----
Definitely get your phone number added ASAP.
Still verification being required typically doesn’t happen very often. How often do you run into this? What are you doing when it happens?
Really?
Its not fear for every one.
If my trusted device has taken by a thief or I forgot to carry with me I cant access in to ID.

Are you going to give details about your problem so that we, your fellow users, can help you with it? Or are you just going to complain?
I don't want other numbers -- i want 2FA turned off! God almighty, what happened to apple??:??
Pretty sure I did. I tried to deactivate 2FA, called apple and spent an hour on the phone that resulted in that end of the conversation. I don't want it fixed. I want it turned off!

Re: “… it rang every phone on the account in every time zone …”
This is not a factually accurate statement about 2FA’s function.
