You can’t.

(Sorry for the “harsh-sounding” reality)

What makes you think that you need to do so?

So … since you’re going to have to “live with it”

Recommend that you carefully review and thoroughly digest the two fairly important and informative articles linked below.

Pay particularly close attention to thoughtfully selecting and setting up Trusted Numbers … these become critical when you need to regain access to your account (e.g. lost, damaged, or stolen device).

It's my money and my phone so i can do what ever the **** i want.

You own the phone. You do NOT own the software on the phone. You license it from Apple. It’s Apple software and they can do whatever they want with it. Apple has decided to require 2FA for access to certain features of their software. You do have an option, though, if this bothers you so much. Leave the platform.

Still got issues with 2fa it’s a complete waste of time totally intrusive and serves no useful purpose whilst I agree with security 2fa simply doesn’t work it’s just another way to pre obsolete products for their profit

I agree with LACAllen. It works fine for me. The first thing to remember is that it is not intended to secure your device. It is there to prevent your Apple ID from being compromised. Once you get your head wrapped around that, it's a lot easier to understand.

If you have it set up properly, it should not be at all intrusive. If I have to interact with it more than two or three times a month, that's unusual.

Start by reading this article, paying special attention to setting up your trusted devices:

Thanks for replies but I must disagree as whilst I am aware it’s for account protection and not devices, all it seems to do is make anything older so much harder to use.

mom no novice to Apple owning many devices including latest iPhone and iPad Pro as well as older devices. The issue is as it only affects your account then why even on my new devices does it keep insisting I sign in again it’s intrusive and completely unnecessary and what’s more Apple have no right to force it upon us.

I get that security is important but when you are able to push Get Code on any new device seems to destroy any security I really think Apple have gone too far this time and as usual with no consultation with it’s loyal customers.

Its important for us all to remember Apple is only as good as it’s customer base which is starting to fall over issues like 2fa and the fact that they have the arrogance to not have a complaints department and just hide behind the so called tech support which in fact new far less about the Apple operating system than myself.

To the handful of contributors on here that think 2fa is a good thing maybe you have only 1 or 2 new devices which of course won’t cause any problems

To you I pose the question would you buy a new car that had to send you a text before the car would open so in a poor service area your standing in the rain waiting for a text on a device you left at home because your on you way to an emergency??? I think the car maker would be laughed out of business

One iPhone, two three iPads, one Mac, an Apple TV and an Apple Watch.

The better analogy would be, when you apply for the car loan, you have to provide both a social security number and a photo ID to have your credit checked. .

2FA protects your Apple ID, not your phone. You shouldn't have to interact with it very often. I think I've need to enter a code maybe once in the last month. If you properly manage your trusted devices, you really shouldn't have many problems.

Ok so how do they define loyal customers easy they have every statistic of every customer including personal details in fact they know as much about you as your Familly and more about you than your best friend as for them having the right according to there ts&cs is only relevant if it does not break statutory rights. And is not used to pre outdated products for profit and not used to obtain yet more personal information.

as for Beta testers these are paid by the company so hardly independent and also only about n 1 or 2 devices not multiple devices.

im not here to cause problems or upset anyone but I really think that if you actually look at 2fa in its entirety you will find it’s a total waste of time.

does not break statutory rights.

What rights of yours have been broken?

pre outdated products for profit

Pre outdated? Doesn't that mean current? How does Apple profit from 2FA?

Beta testers these are paid by the company

Your perspective loses credibility when you start saying incorrect things.

but I really think that if you actually look at 2fa in its entirety you will find it’s a total waste of time.

No. I don't think I will.

Out of sheer curiosity I just timed how long it takes me to get a 2FA verification code request and enter it in the 6 boxes.

4 seconds. F-O-U-R.

May 4, 2020 2:36 PM in response to LACAllen

That’s true about 4. Seconds when you have a good service connection and on WiFi and at home with your feet up try it on the go when it asked you 5 or more times in an hour

as for rights try freedom of choice for one and don’t get me started about older devices we live in an age where we are all expected to be green and get the most from all products so why pre outdated perfectly serves cable devices purely for profit

as for Apple care it should read Apple don’t care as I have had so many conversations and checks on devices and settings to last me a lifetime so please don’t preach about a problem you clearly don’t have and accept that many of us are having problems and getting no help

May 4, 2020 2:54 PM in response to LACAllen

I’m looking for help to either remove 2fa or make it useable and I can only speak about what I want but I will say google is full of other like minded people having the same or similar issues and yes I have read everything I can get my hands on and had tech support on the device by remote and no less than 16 phone calls and guess what it still doesn’t work and nobody cares until it happens to them so yes I’m sounding off in perhaps the wrong place in the slightest way someone will point me to a solution not another web page that tells me what Apple want me to see and not a solution at all so sorry if this is boring to But try putting up with it every day

someone will point me to a solution not another web page that tells me what Apple want me to see and not a solution at all so sorry if this is boring to But try putting up with it every day

And you believe that somebody here is hiding that information from you?

It is understood... you don't like the solution provided here, but it is the only one possible here. Apple is not going to to join this conversation and address your concerns.

And you keep calling it unusable.

For you. And maybe 100s of others who use Google as their forum.

The reality is 100s of millions Apple 2FA users do not have the issues you have and do not consider it unusable.
